Osio Labs is tinkering with Open Source Inside and Out. We’re on a mission to empower anyone to build websites using open source tools, and to create an open and sustainable business.

Hey everybody. This is Addison Berry and you're listening to the Osio Labs podcast, the show that explores the question, how can we create sustainable businesses that care for people and make the world a better place? For today's episode, it's going to be a little different in that this is going to be the recording of our first Osio Labs community newsletter that we're putting out. So this is not gonna be a normal episode here. I'm gonna start with a tl;dr or"too long, didn't read" summary of the newsletter, and then I'll, I'll just dive into it and read the newsletter. So for folks who don't want to read or that just more difficult for them, they'll be able to listen to this recording instead. So for the TLDR, we're starting a new community focused on self-development and leadership for building communities. While business and career can be a part of that, we also want to embrace and focus on the challenges in volunteer groups as well. So you can join the discussion for free at community.osiolabs.com. And Osio labs is O-S-I-O-L-A-B-S. So that's the summary. And now I'm just gonna go ahead and, and read through the newsletter for you, a new kind of leadership community. OCL Labs is known to some folks as a technology education company due to our most well-known products, Drupalize.Me and HeyNode.Com, which provide online tutorials for learning Drupal and node js respectively. Beyond the products we've created, we're also very focused on being an open-hearted, open books company that takes a hard look at what it means to be a human-centered, sustainable business. On our podcast, for those who have listened to previous episodes, we have discussed how we run our business and a variety of social and business topics. We're launching an online community to dive into these topics with a broader view beyond business, turning an eye specifically towards volunteer communities. The community is a place to discuss self-development and leadership for building communities of all types. While business and career are certainly one aspect of this for many people, we want to widen the approach to cover a range of communities and bring light to the challenges specific to groups of volunteers as well as groups of employees. If you're involved in groups of any size and sort, you're probably familiar with the challenges in group dynamics and keeping your own involvement balanced and healthy. Humans are a social species, and we gather in a huge range of groups, including families and friends, volunteer programs, open source work, leisure, everything in between. Building better relationships with ourselves and other people makes for more fulfilling collaboration and helps us bring positive change to the world. Our Osio Labs community is a place to find and share resources as well as talk through the multitude of joys and challenges that we encounter on our paths both shared and not. There are discussion forums now and shortly we'll be adding some mini courses on topics like self-awareness, values, motivation, communication, and more, stuff like that. As the community grows, we'll offer live events, uh, for sharing knowledge and to have real time discussions, run group coaching sessions, invite experts in for workshops and implement other great ideas that come from the community itself. Access to the community discussions is free and open to all. You can join us today at community.osiolabs.com. Our newsletters are available inside the community site where you can also make suggestions and then join the discussion around the newsletters. And if you would like to get this newsletter in your inbox, you can also sign up for an email newsletter. So if you go to the podcast episode page, we'll have links for signing up for the email newsletter and a link that can take you to the community site, which again is community.osiolabs.com. So thanks for listening to this recording of our newsletter, and we certainly hope to see you join in our community and, Start taking part in discussions about what does it mean to be self-aware, to exhibit self-leadership, and how do we, how do we help our communities grow and. Accomplish the, the goals and the dreams that they have.
